The Challenge: Scaling a Local Favourite Beyond the Counter
Following the success of their in-store rebrand (as detailed in our previous case study), Cravings 4 Cake saw a significant surge in demand. Their delicious products were more popular than ever, but their ordering process was entirely manual—relying on phone calls and in-person visits.
This created a growth ceiling. To scale the business, expand their reach beyond local foot traffic, and offer a modern, convenient service, they needed to solve three problems:

The Solution: A Deliciously Simple Mobile Ordering Experience
WDA’s goal was to design a mobile app that was as delightful and satisfying as the bakery’s cakes. Our strategy was to create an intuitive, visually rich e-commerce platform that made ordering an absolute pleasure.
E-commerce Strategy & User Flow: Our process began with a strategy session to define the ideal customer journey. We identified key features like product customization (e.g., adding a message to a cake), dietary filters, and a frictionless checkout as critical for success.
Wireframing & Prototyping: Our team created detailed wireframes and an interactive prototype of the entire app. This allowed us to perfect the user flow—from browsing the menu to tracking a delivery—ensuring the experience was seamless before the final design phase.
Appetizing UI & Visual Design: We extended the bakery’s warm and inviting brand identity into the digital app. The UI was designed to be clean and bright, allowing the mouth-watering product photography to take centre stage. Every button, icon, and font was chosen to be on-brand and to contribute to a friendly, easy-to-use interface.
